What’s New in a.school? Attendance, Messaging, Forms, and User Profiles Revamp.
Support on June 11, 2025

It’s been a while since we updated the blog, but we haven’t been standing still. Over the past few months, we’ve been busy behind the scenes making a.school better across the board.
First up: attendance. We’ve completely revamped how it works. Now, teachers can check students in and out with a single click, mark the whole class at once using a toggle, and access all their classes for the day from a single location.

Attendance reports are easier, too. Schools can generate them by date range and download them as CSV or PDF files right from the Classes section.
We also launched a new messaging experience. Messages now originate from a single central location and are categorized into four distinct types: Broadcast, Class, Family, and Staff.

This makes it easier to send announcements, talk with families, or coordinate with coworkers. And for the first time, students and guardians can now message the school directly from their side of the app.
Our new forms system makes collecting information simple. You can create forms by dragging in fields, split them into steps, and share them via email or a public link.

Whether it’s a field trip form or a full enrollment application that collects guardian info and processes payments, it’s all handled in one place. Submissions can be viewed online or exported to a spreadsheet for further review.
Finally, we’ve made it easier to manage user profiles. Schools can now edit student or guardian details at any time before registration is complete.
We’ve also introduced a new visual roster view and added profile images back across the app. And instead of clicking through multiple screens, you can now open a student’s full profile directly from the class roster.
That’s just a quick overview of what we’ve been working on. We’ll be sharing regular updates here, including support tips and walkthroughs to help you get the most out of the platform.
